Salvation According to the Bible

The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" This means that everyone is a sinner no matter who they are, where they come from, or what they've done. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." A wage is a payment. Therefore, our payment for sinning is death, or separation from God. This of course means that we are to spend an eternity in Hell. This is a place that the Bible describes with words such as, "...where the worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

However, there is good news. Hell was not prepared for mankind. It was prepared for the devil and his followers. It is only because of the sin of all men that we are forced to spend eternity in Hell. But out of the great love and mercy of almighty God a way was made. You see, the second part of Romans 6:23 states that "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." God loved us so much that He sent His son to be born of a virgin in Bethlehem. He was the only man to live a sinless life. He was then crucified on the cross for our sins (you see He was the perfect sacrifice), was buried in a tomb, and on the third day rose again with power over death and sin. So how do you go to Heaven? The Bible lays it out in a simple three step plan that is as simple as abc...

  1. Admit that you are a sinner.
  2. Believe that Jesus Christ is Lord.
  3. Call upon the name of the Lord.

All you have to do is this... Pray a simple prayer, but also believe and mean what you are praying.

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I freely confess that to you. I believe with all my heart that you are Lord, that you love me, and you want to save me. I call upon Your name for my salvation. In Jesus name a pray. AMEN
